The App allows users to access live TV channels and thousands of On Demand movies and shows with prior purchase on a Set Top Box. Users can easily search for their favorite entertainment by filtering through genres, ratings, and favorite channels. They can also view their personal library of DVR recordings, On Demand purchases, bookmarks, and more. The App also provides recommendations for shows and movies based on the user's preferences.
To start streaming, users must download and log into the App on a supported streaming device. However, to access this feature, users must have a Mix & Match Fios TV and Internet plan and a Streaming Device Connection package. These connections are only for in-home use and require at least one installed Verizon Media Server or Fios TV One set-top box and one Fios Quantum Gateway Router or Fios Router. Non-Verizon routers may not have access to all channels or be able to stream DVR recordings through the App.
The App must be installed on a supported streaming device, which the user must authorize for access (unless they have signed up for the Streaming Device Connection Bundle). However, streaming devices can only support a maximum of two active Linear (non-VOD) video streams at one time. Additionally, not all features or content available through set-top boxes are accessible on streaming devices. For example, VOD library content, purchases, and rentals are restricted, and the Fios TV Kid's Portal feature, Fios TV Widgets, and third-party integrations are not available. Furthermore, all content is transmitted in HD/SD formats only.
